Method

This is a personality test for fun, built so that every result can be explained. Here is exactly how it works, and what it can’t tell you.

Six traits

Every person and every character is described with the same six traits, each from 0 to 100: strategy, empathy, independence, adventure, responsibility and composure.

Strategy
Planning ahead and thinking several moves forward.
Empathy
Noticing how others feel and letting it shape your choices.
Independence
Preferring your own rules and your own way over a team script.
Adventure
Seeking out the new, the unknown and the risky.
Responsibility
Keeping promises and stepping up for others, even at a cost.
Composure
Staying steady and in control when pressure spikes.

Scoring

There are 24 questions: 18 statements you rate from “strongly disagree” to “strongly agree”, and 6 short scenarios where you pick one option. Each answer adds or subtracts points on one or more traits; some statements are reverse-scored.

For each trait, your total is placed on a 0–100 scale between the lowest and highest total the questions allow. Everything is calculated in your browser, and the same answers always give the same result.

Character profiles

Each character’s six scores are an editorial estimate based on a specific screen portrayal, which is named on the character’s page. Comic versions can be very different. These are not official figures, and this first version has not yet been checked by independent raters or calibrated against reader feedback; we plan to do both.

Similarity index

For each character we take the gap between your score and theirs on all six traits, average those gaps and subtract the average from 100. Example: gaps of 10, 20, 5, 15, 0 and 10 average 10, so the index is 90. Characters are ranked by this index; ties go to the smaller overall distance.

The index is a site-specific measure of closeness. It is not the probability that you “are” the character, a confidence level, or a clinical or psychological assessment.

Explanations

“Why you’re alike” lists the three traits where your gap is smallest. “Where you differ” lists up to two traits where the gap is 12 points or more. Each line pairs a description of your score with the on-screen behavior behind the character’s score.

Limits

A 24-question self-report is short and depends on mood and context. The questions have not been validated as a psychological instrument. Please use the result as a conversation starter, not to make decisions about yourself or others.
